I was born and raised in Wrexham in a Welsh-speaking family.
From the day I was born my Mum and Dad raised me to appreciate value of public service and were very active in our community.
They drove me to work hard and get the best education I could. I attended Ysgol Morgan Llwyd and graduated from Cardiff University before training to become a social worker.
For the next 27 years I worked as a Child Protective Social Worker, working to protect vulnerable children at home and abroad.
I currently live in Hay-on-Wye with my husband Patrick and am so passionate about supporting our many diverse communities across Brecon and Radnorshire.
During my time as your MP, I stood up to demand better from our politicians and the Westminster Government. I want to stand up for everyone in our community that feels let down by those in power.
Around Powys, we are seeing ordinary families being driven to foodbanks by crippling failures in the Conservative Government’s Universal Credit scheme. We have small businesses and farmers living in fear at the damage Conservative plans will do to their livelihoods.
We have residents who have lost vital community facilities like Post Offices, banks, shops and lack decent public transport. Living here in Brecon & Radnorshire, I know how important it is that we have an MP who stands up for the unique issues affecting our rural communities.
That is why I am fighting to make sure the voice of our local communities is heard in Westminster.
Working with Kirsty Williams our strong team of local Councillors and campaigners, I am fighting to ensure that we build a fairer, greener society which improves the lives of you and your family.
With your continued support, we can achieve it.
