Jane Dodds today has called on the Welsh Government to introduce mobile dentist service for communities in Powys, after raising residents’ concerns over extreme waiting lists.
Jane said: "Whilst dentistry remains one of the most difficult areas of primary care delivery to provide during a respiratory virus pandemic, there have been issues relating to the provision of NHS dentistry for decades.
"One resident in Llandrindod was advised to book an emergency appointment after a call with 111, but was unable to book the appointment within her local area.
"With such a long-running and complex issue such as provision of dental care in rural areas, surely it’s worth exploring more innovative solutions whilst long term reform is underway."
Jane added: "I shall continue to fight for local service access - we need real action so that the residents of Mid and West Wales get the proper dental services we need."
