Jane Dodds has been re-adopted as the Welsh Liberal Democrat candidate for Brecon and Radnorshire at the upcoming General Election.
At a meeting of local members last night, she received the unanimous backing in her re-adoption as the party’s candidate, having been proposed by Kirsty Williams AM.
Jane is the incumbent candidate, having won the Brecon and Radnorshire Westminster seat earlier this year in the by-election – where she overturned a Conservative majority of more than 8,000 votes.
She now lives in Hay-on-Wye with her husband Patrick.

Jane Dodds, Welsh Liberal Democrat Candidate said:
“I am hugely honoured to have received the unanimous support of my local party last night and am looking forward to giving the coming election all I’ve got.
“Since my election, I’ve always tried to be the hardworking MP Brecon and Radnorshire deserves; successfully campaigning to get Barclays to reverse their plans to pull out of the Post Office, fighting for greater police funding to tackle rural crime and protecting our farmers from a damaging no-deal Brexit.
“This is just the beginning, and there is so much more I want to do. That’s why I’ll be out there every day, rain or shine, talking to voters to show them why they should put their trust in me again and give me the chance to get the job done.”
Kirsty Williams, Welsh Liberal Democrat Assembly Member for Brecon and Radnorshire, added:
“In Jane, we have a candidate who works and cares for everyone. It doesn’t matter who reaches out to her, Jane will always answer the call and take up the case with such passion and conviction.
“The things achieved in just a few short months is astonishing. She has been a stalwart champion for our communities and led the cross-party campaign that saw Barclays to U-turn on their decision to withdraw from the Post Office.
“It’s been a huge pleasure to work alongside Jane as MP these past few months, so on December 12th let’s re-elect Jane to ensure she can continue the fight to build a brighter future for everyone here in Brecon and Radnorshire.”
